Make Sushi At Home With The Kids!

Leading UK-based Japanese food company YUTAKA, has all the ingredients, without all the additives, to make authentic and healthy sushi at home. Kids love the fact they can get all messy whilst making sushi and the health benefits are incredible. A recent report found the Japanese diet seems to be one of the primary reasons they boast the longest lifespan in the world.

Nori (seaweed, which is used to wrap the rolls) is abundant in health benefits and is considered an ancient superfood. As well as being really tasty, it provides loads of essential nutrients, is packed with dietary fibre, improves bone and dental health, is high in iron and rich in protein. And that’s just for starters. Wasabi, ginger and soy sauce have all been found to have a variety of benefits too.

The beauty of YUTAKA’s ingredients is that they’re all made in the traditional way, which means they feature a lot less additives than other brands on the market.

We have never tried making sushi before but I've often thought about giving it a go and last weekend I made some with my Granddaughter.

Kids can be fussy with their food and sometimes it can be really difficult to persuade them to try something new, but I've found over the years that if you let them play with their food and get creative they are more likely to want to try it.

Sushi doesn't just have to be raw fish, it is basically just a sweet rice paired with any protein, vegetable or fruit. It is healthy, nutritious and so much fun to make. We made a Chicken Teriyaki to put in our sushi and we absolutely loved it, but you could team your sushi with tinned tuna, or mango pieces, carrot, cucumber....anything really.

We had a great time making sushi and will do it again soon.
Have you ever made sushi? What do you team yours with?

That’so All In One Sunscreen Review

We have been told our whole lives that no matter how many times we apply our sunscreen we will only ever get SPF stated on the bottle. Not any more! There is a brand new sunscreen that is breaking all the rules and saying that their product will do exactly what we thought impossible.

Italian tanning and skincare experts at That'so have developed an 'All-in-One' sunscreen that will give you 20, 30 & 50 SPF in one bottle.

How cool is that! It means that you no longer have to carry to the beach three different SPF bottles of sunscreen. Brilliant news!

That'so All In One SPF 20-30-50+ Protective Dry Oil Spray - To obtain 20 SPF you just spray on your skin for ten seconds, then 3 minutes later spray a second layer to obtain 30 SPF and a further 3 minutes apply a third layer to obtain 50 SPF. It is as simple as that.

As well as protecting your skin this product also offers super melanin stimulation, thanks to TYR-EXCEL™ which is activated by UV rays and  MELANUP+™ which works without UV sunrays and promotes speedy tanning and intensity. So basically it acts as a tan enhancer and moisture protector. It protects and tans at the same time.

That'so All In One After Sun Micro-Emulsion Spray - Rich in moisturising, it contains anti-erythema active ingredients which enhances your tan and repairs the skin from any sun damage. It has an easy spray application that soothes and refreshes the skin.

As well as MELANUP+™  That'so after sun contains the following active ingredients -
●   D.S.B. C®: anti-inflammatory and protects the skin fighting against free radicals and deeply hydrating the skin.
●   INHIPASE®: has an anti-inflammatory, anti-redness and anti-dryness action on the skin.
●   St Paul’s Wort: a powerful anti-inflammatory for the skin.
●   Aloe Barbadensis: has a powerful hydrating effect on the skin, aloe vera is also anti-inflammatory, helps protect the epidermis, and has a long-term hydrating effect.

Bottom Line - What do we think? We were sent some of these products to try and we loved it. Two of my twenty something kids have been using both products almost daily for the past couple of weeks and have become huge fans. My son is asked on daily basis where he has been on holiday because he has developed such a lovely tan just from sitting in the garden in between his shifts from work. People are shocked he hasn't been somewhere more exotic. We love the fact that they protect as well as enhance a tan and they smell divine. Also as a spray oil they do not feel greasy at all. Big thumbs up from The Syders! Highly Recommend!

Great British Tennis Weekend - Try For Free!

Way back in the 80's during the first summer that me and Papa Syder first met we used to play tennis together most evenings. We were both very competitive and would play night after night, desperate to prove who was the better player. As the years went by we continued to play but then we had kids in tow, who would also really enjoy a spot of tennis over our local park.

As the kids have grown we haven't played tennis together in years, then I heard about a fabulous campaign for the whole family from the Tennis Lawn Association, the Great British Tennis Weekend  – Saturday 16 July & Sunday 17 July. Basically, you can sign up the whole family to pop along to your nearest club and try some tennis for free. #GBTW allows parents and kids to get outside, try something new and learn a few moves. How much fun does that sound!

Thousands of free events will be taking place throughout the summer, all over the UK with activities like Highland Spring Mini Tennis Sessions, Family time, free play, cardio tennis and loads more to get involved with. Rackets and balls will be provided. You can find out where your nearest events are on the Great British Tennis Weekend website.

The hubs and I decided to get outside for a game of tennis and try our local court. We are eager to get fit for our summer holiday and boy did we build up a sweat on the court. Not quite as light on our toes as we once were but we had a giggle and we really enjoyed trying to be seventeen again. We will definitely be returning to the court and next time we will bring our Granddaughter after we have signed up for a #GBTW session at our local club.

We mean business!

Disclosure: I am working with the Tennis Lawn Association on their #GBTW campaign. Sign up for your FREE tennis activity here
