Camp Bestival 2015 - Line Up Announcement

Camp Bestival is set to be another good one this year, with brilliant acts including Professor Green, Wretch 32, Kate Tempest, Bob Geldof and Mr Tumble.  I am particulary excited to hear that Soul II Soul will be there too along with Alison Moyet and Level 42.

Going wilder than ever before our festi-holiday frolics are already off to a cracking start with previously announced headline sets from Underworld, Clean Bandit & Kaiser Chiefs and brand new family shows from The Cat in the Hat Live and Dick vs Dom Go Wild in the Ring. Now we have even more news of fantastic live acts, big Camp Bestival faves, mega-wild workshops and brand new attractions, all joining us at Lulworth Castle on the dramatic Jurassic Coast this 30th July – 2nd August, when Camp Bestival Goes Wild!

I don't know where to start with our typically all encompassing, diverse and pretty wild line-up. Maybe at the end, with electronic mega-dons Underworld revving up for the grand finale on Sunday all the way back through iconic pop from Alison Moyet, Level 42 and Bob Geldof, young guns Wretch 32, Pro Green and Clean Bandit, plus the hottest new blood Kate Tempest, Slaves and George The Poet. I'm really hoping there’s a lot to discover at Camp Besti 2015. Not forgetting our most requested act every year and a total legend: Mr Tumble!

As Camp veterans know, music is only one part of the adventure and our incredible creative crew have really pulled it out of the bag with some really wild arts and kids shenanigans from The Train Trip to West End Kids and all the amazing workshops and wild activities to boot. Really hope to see you at our castle by the sea in sunny Lulworth in July! Chief Wild Thing Rob da Bank.

A New Year, A New Me.

It is that time of year again, when we flick through holiday brochures and spend hour upon hour browsing online deals for our summer holiday. There is just so much choice from backpacking in the UK to Mediterranean cruises with people like Fred Olsen. We will probably stay in the UK this year, as we had a holiday abroad last year and next year my younger Brother is getting married in Jamaica so I need to try and save up to be able to go.

Last year our holiday to Spain was super. Walking along a sandy beach, chilling around a busy pool and enjoying a few vino's while watching the Spanish entertainment in the evenings was so much fun.

Apart from holidays on my mind I'm thinking about my health for 2015. I know it is something that most of us think about at the start of a new year but I really do need to sort my weight out once and for all. I'm desperate to lose at least four stone this year and to hopefully be able to stop taking my hypertension medication. Being introduced to juicing last year has opened my eyes to what a plant based diet can do for your health and this year I will be embracing it even more. After successfully completing a 14 day juice fast last year I lost a whopping 2 stone and felt amazing, then gradually slipped into my old ways. Hubby is really supportive of my weight issues and he lovingly encourages me every step of the way. I'm very lucky to have him.

2015 will be a year of healthy living and more exercise. Living coastal helps as Hubby and I have lovely long walks along the sea wall. It is invigorating and good for the soul. I feel so alive as I walk, breathing in the sea air. So no resolutions this year, just a keen determination to get healthy.

Thrifty Plus Size - Dressing For A Job Interview

Monochrome Must Haves

Now that Christmas is well and truly over and the New year is here, it is the perfect time for a UK job search. Whether you are looking for a new job or change of career then a good online job board like City Calling should obviously be your first priority to secure a job interview, then look for a smart outfit that you will feel confident wearing. At the moment there are fashion sales on everywhere; really good sales that will guarantee you a bargain. My favourite plus size sales at the moment are in Evans, New Look, Yours Clothing and Matalan. They are packed to the rafters with reduced items, many less than half price.

Smart and professional are the key words to keep in mind as you browse the store. A blazer is a good idea and it is a classic piece that you can keep in the wardrobe for years to come. You can dress it up or dress it down by wearing it with jeans and pumps. I picked a monochrome textured blazer (above) from Matalan for £20 as a centre piece then added basic items like a black skater dress from Yours Clothing, black tights and some comfortable heeled boots from Evans.

Try not to wear anything too bold, heavy make up, chunky jewellery and do not over do the perfume. Keep things simple. Remain professional, too much emphasise on fashion (unless it is a fashion related position) will be too distracting and will deflect from showcasing your suitability for the role.

Personal hygiene is also important, unwashed hair and chipped nails will not do. Prepare the night before by having a pamper session to ensure you will look your best. Paint your nails with a clear nail varnish or keep the colour very neutral like a nude or light grey. The more time you spend on your appearance, the more confident you will feel during the interview.

My Sunday Photo

You know how much I love Christmas, right? And, I adore the flavours of festive food, which meant I over indulged and put on 7lb. I haven't juiced over the past couple of months and I've been feeling it. My body craves some goodness and to be treated to a new fitness regime. So, the juicer has been dusted off and hubby and I are back out walking again. Its cold, it's windy and it's bitterness bites right through to our bones, but boy it feels good and I've already lost two pounds!
